    Rebecca Chapman, flute

    Rebecca Chapman is the primary flute instructor at Utah’s largest college, Utah Valley University, and plays with the distinguished Ballet West Orchestra. A frequent studio artist, she has recorded flute tracks for Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, Newsies, Oliver!, Brigadoon, and other musicals.

    Chapman was the winner of the “Judges Commendation Award” in the 2016 Classics Alive Young Artists Competition as well as the Estelle Campbell Prize winner in the 2014 national NSAL Competition. Chapman is under management as a solo artist for Classics Alive Artists. She has performed in Japan, Germany, France, and across the United States.

    An avid chamber musician, Chapman currently plays for the Alpine Chamber Winds. She is a founding member of Emissary Quartet and has performed with EQ at Fischoff, the National Flute Association Convention, and in Boston, NYC, Pittsburgh, Iowa, and Utah residencies.

    Chapman gave her solo debut with the Las Vegas Philharmonic at the age of 12. She holds a Bachelor’s degree from Carnegie Mellon University and a Master’s degree from The University of Texas at Austin. Her primary teachers include Jeanne Baxtresser and Marianne Gedigian.
