Voice Program in Germany

    • The voice program is intensive and unique. Vocal students will have the opportunity to specialize in opera or in bel canto style mixed chamber groups with art songs that they do not normally have a chance to study at home. Repertoire examples from the past include Barber's Dover Beach for baritone and string quartet, John Corrigliano's Three Irish Folksongs for soprano and flute, Handel: Part 2: No.3 of Gia risonar d'intorno al campidoglio io sento for bass singer, trumpet, double bass, and piano to name a few. Some voice students study arias, duets, or trios with singers accompanied by string quartet for their chamber music assignment. The beauty of their surroundings and cultural experience is ideal for artistic growth.

    • Each student receives two private lessons per week with an internationally-renowned artist faculty member.

    • All participants are preselected into chamber groups and assigned to partners and repertoire choices according to level, matched well in advance. Singers receive two fourty-five minute chamber coachings per week with an artist faculty member with their chamber group(s).

    • German for singers is a diction class that meets 10 times in the duration of the festival and covers topics on German diction as well as elements of the German language.

    • Italian for Singers is a diction class that meets 10 times in the duration of the festival and covers topics on Italian diction as well as elements of the Italian language. It is taught by a native Italian speaker. More info - List of Master Classes »

In the past we have had lectures on Integrating the Musical and the Technical, Projection in Performance, Stage Presence, Jazz Improvisation, Orchestral Repertoire, Eurythmics, Yoga for String Players, and Alexander Technique.
